Hosting for Mother's Day is something I've done many times now. This one was way to different because the organisers wished to Keep Maa Out of it! Yes the theme was #keepmaaoutofit.

We are all human beings and we are similar. There's no beating that. So almost, always the first word we all learn to say is Maa/ Mom/Amma/ Aai. The irony is today almost all our abuses also use the word Maa. The stage for this event had TeriMaaKa assembled all over it and partcipants had to actually break down everything apart from the word Maa.

Our guest for this evening was the very versatile actress Chitrangda. Humility can be her middle name. When I asked her about how often she curses she admitted that she did quite frequently and did not want to put herself on a pedestal. Being a mother herself, she insisted that we all take a step towards this initiative to keep our mothers out of our abuses.

It was dollops of fun for me to interact with a live audience who had come with the intention of shopping but ended up having some very real & personal conversations with me. I returned from this event with a bunch of interesting stories.

Hence proved again, anchoring is not about only talking. It's about listening and talking in the right gaps.
